The National Association of Counties (NACo) Legislative Conference brings together nearly 2,000 elected and appointed county officials to focus on federal policy issues that impact counties and our residents.     U.S. Supreme Court overturns "physical presence" standard in major sales tax collection case

    South Dakota versus Wayfair Supreme Court Decision.  In a 5-4 decision, the United States Supreme Court ruled that states and local governments can require vendors with no physical presence in the state to collect and remit existing sales taxes on remote or online purchases.  Learn more at County News link above.
