The Illinois Department of Transportation is seeking qualified individuals to help keep the state's roads and bridges clear during the upcoming winter season.
To help maintain the more than 45,000 lane miles statewide, IDOT is hiring snow removal operators and winter salaried highway maintainers through the Department's annual SNOWBIRD program.
A series of open houses will be held throughout the state for individuals interested in applying for seasonal positions to help with snow-and-ice removal statewide. IDOT staff will be present at each open house to answer questions about the Department's annual SNOWBIRD program and also provide assistance in submitting an application.
Applications must be submitted online by September 12th.
