IEPA Announces $5M in Grants for Water Quality Projects

The Illinois EPA has announced new funding opportunities for infrastructure projects aimed at improving water quality in the state. The Green Infrastructure Grant Opportunities (GIGO) Program will distribute $5 million from the Rebuild Illinois Capital Plan. 

The program seeks proposals for projects focused on preserving, restoring, or enhancing natural hydrology to protect state waterways through 'best management practices that prevent, eliminate, or reduce stormwater runoff, reducing localized or riverine flooding in Illinois’ rivers, streams, and lakes.'

Applications for the GIGO program must be submitted through the GATA Grantee Portal and are due by noon on Wednesday, November 20th.
